From Frustration to Framework: The Birth of DocuLaunch™

The Problem with Process Documentation

Throughout my career working with small businesses of 10-50 employees, I've always been the "process guy." I love frameworks and believe in leveraging proven systems that work. But there was one area where I kept hitting a wall: process documentation.

Let me paint you a picture of where I started. Picture endless Word documents filled with screenshots, decorated with a maze of arrows pointing everywhere. If you've ever tried this approach, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's brutal, time-consuming, and worst of all – ineffective.

The Missing Framework

Despite my deep appreciation for frameworks, I noticed something significant: there wasn't a proven, systematic approach for actually getting processes documented. Sure, there were plenty of theories and high-level concepts, but nothing that addressed the nitty-gritty execution – the actual "how to sit down and get it done" part.

This gap became increasingly apparent as I watched companies, including ones I worked with, struggle with the same challenges:

  • Getting teams aligned on documentation priorities

  • Creating actionable game plans

  • Facilitating the necessary (but often uncomfortable) conversations

  • Documenting processes in a way that was both comprehensive and usable

  • Maintaining and updating documentation over time

The Birth of DocuLaunch™

After years of trial and error, wasted time, and lessons learned the hard way, I decided to solve this problem once and for all. I sat down and mapped out a methodology that would address every major challenge I'd encountered in process documentation.

The result was a comprehensive framework that could take a company from "TO DO" to "DONE" in 90 days. This wasn't just another theoretical approach – it was a battle-tested method that focused on execution and results. The framework included:

  • Team alignment strategies

  • Clear project planning templates

  • Facilitation guides for difficult conversations

  • The optimal 20/80 documentation format

  • Systems for creating a single source of truth

  • Training and maintenance protocols

Building BuildTheProcess

This framework eventually became known as DocuLaunch™, and it was so effective that it led to the creation of BuildTheProcess (yes, I know – perhaps not the most creative company name, but it gets the point across!). Our mission became clear: help modern small businesses overcome the challenges of process documentation.

Sharing the Secret Sauce

Taking inspiration from Alex Hormozi's approach to business, I've made a decisive choice: we're going to give away all our secrets, including the complete DocuLaunch™ framework. Why? Because I believe that every business deserves access to effective process documentation tools.

My goal is simple: I want you to be able to "self-document" your processes successfully, without having to waste years learning the hard way like I did. Whether you choose to work with BuildTheProcess or implement the framework on your own, I want you to have access to a system that actually works.

Looking Forward

This is just the beginning of our journey to revolutionize how small businesses approach process documentation. Through BuildTheProcess and the DocuLaunch™ framework, we're turning the often dreaded task of process documentation into a manageable, successful endeavor.

Stay tuned as we continue to share our insights, strategies, and the complete DocuLaunch™ framework. Together, we can transform the way businesses document and maintain their processes, creating more efficient, scalable organizations in the process.

The days of arrow-filled Word documents are over.

Welcome to the future of process documentation.
